So, now I am off to find a payphone and to get some lunch.
My first notes
1) Don't they get tired of saying hello, thank you, and goodbye in every store. I love that they are polite. I'm just curious if they ever want to not speak.
2)I heard about the staring. I just pass it off as they have never seen an African-American woman of such beauty.
3)I had some kids speak to me in a store. It was odd at first because I was like I don't know them. I now know that the kids want to speak when they can. I get it.
4) I need to learn "How much is it?" I spent some hours on the plane learning a few key words.
Here is a video:

I tried to watch some movies on the plane. I tried watching "Righteous Kill". I watched until five minutes after 50 cent appeared in the movie. Next, I swear I watched the last mummy movie before but I couldn't remember it. So, I watched that in fast forward mode. Then, I watched a Korean film "Our School's E.T.". This was a cute film. I tried really hard to watch "Rachel Getting Married," but it felt like I was there at the wedding wishing I could go to my house and be anti-social instead. The film is shot like a home video. I think it may be time to stop watching movies for awhile b/c I haven't been impressed. I stayed up most of the flight. ( I surprised myself with that) I think I watched another film but I don't remember it.

How are you doing?
So, I am leaving tomorrow to teach English in S. Korea. I have a contract for a year. That's right Must Love Movies(aka KJ) will be in Korea still giving you film reviews and talking about movies. I'm not sure when my internet will be working so be strong while I am offline in the next few days. = ) I plan to brush up on my writing skills again. (I blame ims and text messages) I don't plan on turning this into a teaching English in Korea blog. I will however try to keep some good videos up on the site of my travels.
Lata for now

YOU CAN LEARN A LOT FROM A DOCUMENTARY.
(Sorry I got tired of seeing those cookies)

I've read so many good reviews on this film.
Here's a synop from imdb:
Danny - a lonely factory worker, intimidated by life - is battered and humiliated in front of his kids in a random act of violence. His already bleak existence sinks further into the abyss. On the verge of total breakdown he decides to fight back. He meets a group of night-club doormen who take him in and give him the confidence to stand his ground. As he is drawn deeper into their world he becomes embroiled with the local gangland boss, setting in motion a chain of events with shockingly brutal consequences. Written by Formosa Films
I watched it a few days go. This movie is full of good scenes like a British film will do you. I've seen better films though. I thought the film was going to be really good from the start then it just started going downhill. It went from these characters are cool to okay now they have no personality. Its not a bad movie. It's like watching this poolhall movie that I can't remember the name of meets "The Big Hit". (Can somebody please name some poolhall movies for me?)
Anyways, it's Sunday so I will try to watch some movies today and review them.

The film was chopped up too much. It went from one scene to another with little road in between. You know what though in comparison to the Pac movie I like that they did a docudrama instead of a documentary.

I found this cool documentary production company. I wouldn't mind working for this UK based company.
Here are some links to their work:

Anyways, this film in comparison to the films of the same subject matter is the best I've seen so far. However, when I think of films like it I think of "Closer," "Stepford wives," and "Unfaithful". All three films make my I could have never watched it and would still sleep the same list. I did enjoy the dialogue between the couple in this film. I do feel it really gave a good perspective of a couple in conflict. The idea of getting married settling down and having kids is what many dream of. Leo and Kate are a couple that are now questioning their lives and if they are happy. I think this is the big relationship destroyer. The am I really happy thought. Then everything else helps one make that decision. If I were to decide on the point of this film, I would say that it explains that if you are unhappy you will try to escape and should. If you don't you and your lover will be miserable.
You know why I want to see this b/c the director worked on "Die Hard 2". If this is anything like the "Die Hard" series I would love to see it. I tell you I used to watch the third Die Hard every time I got bored. It was one of the films I recorded on vhs. I always has a choice between "Die Hard with a Vengeance" and "Bad Boys".
What did you tape back in the day?

"THE WRESTLER" the story of a wrestler who realizes the harm his lifestyle has done to his body and seeks to change his life. (lol) This was a good film. Mickey can get the award as far as I'm concerned. I would think this was his life story if I didn't know any better.
"Cinema Paradiso" Oh how I love this film. This is a love story. A young man grows up at a local theater, there he falls in love with film and falls in love with a woman. I mean why wouldn't I love this film.
Please read this and let us discuss it?
My thoughts so far are it's like they are thinking let us test this out on the high risk poor women they will probably get it anyways. I hope it helps I am just concerned with their strategy. These women aren't being forced into the study but to give some a gel that works and others one that they aren't sure of yet isn't right.
The case of Oscar Grant is seeking support. He was another young black man killed by police.
Let us all go to this site and sign up. The site features footage of the crime.

I watched 30 minutes then I took a nap. I woke up and watched another 30 minutes and it was over.
The lady from "Miss Pettigrew.." is starting to seem like just a cute actor. Meryl and Phillip were amazing as usual. Viola was good for the 15 minutes she spoke in the movie. I would not say that this was her best role. I tell you what if I would have read this story instead of watching it I would have appreciated it more. It was like a book translated to film with no big changes. I like that it covered this subject and I am shocked it didn't cause any controversy. However, the majority of the theater crowd consisted of older white people and at the end I think we all just woke up from a good nap. This was no cinematic genius it was simple it seems with good acting. I would recommend it for the Meryl fan. If it wasn't an adaptation (sorry I don't feel like doing the research) it should compete for the screenplay award.

This list on Wiki gives me some motivation. I would like this list to be a bit inaccurate due to wiki not having all the info. However, I am sure this is pretty much the facts.
Check it out and go make some movies you young gifted and black filmmakers.
Did Raisin in the Sun go to the movie theaters?
Do they know or do they not know that they are going to win?
What is Paul G. doing to his face?
What's up with the clip from a movie then flash to the actor then move on to the next award thing?
I'm happy "Slumdog Millionaire" won for original score and the director won. Heath Ledger won for his role in "Dark Knight". I wanted my girl from SVU to win. I love that show. The Speilberg tribute was great. I really have to say him and his crews do some amazing work. Even the films he has just touched financially have been great contributions to cinema the experience.
I really can't give too many highlights because I am multi-tasking while watching it.
D.C. GIRL @THE MOVIES I'M LOVING YOU FOR THIS ONE.
His accent is the best.
let me tell you the story of head vs. heart
head was always talking down to heart saying he is a fool
heart would say head you got a thing or two to learn
head said feelings will have you broke
heart said feelings causes acts of revolution
head said feelings cause people to kill and commit to suicide
heart says living a life devoted to freedom and love can be suicide
there are casualties of war
head says war is a mistake that man partakes in
heart says is war not a battle or a fight so aren't we at war most of our lives
head says war can serve a purpose
heart says reason is enough to do many things
head says war is a result of too much passion
heart says I'd rather have passion than to have hate
head says you'd rather not know anything
heart says the things I feel are the things I know
head let up one day and stopped speaking to heart
heart got lonely one day and called on head
head told heart you make me insane
heart said you make me strong
so they settled on agreeing to disagree
as they both discover ways to let things be

Well to start I worked on this film for two days. I didn't make the credits wah wah wannh. I was also fortunate to hear David Fincher lecture at my old University.
How do I describe this film? I am sure by now everyone knows the plot of the film.
I'm going to list some pros and cons
1)A well done film
2)A cute story
3)Seeing actors and extras I know
4)SPOILER The shot of the car when Benjamin takes his dad to the pier.
6)The story of the clock.
7)Showing New Orleans love
1)Was I supposed to understand the old lady that narrated it?
2)How long was it?
3)I swear I was going to be snooze city until the Chelsea went to war.
4)The whole time I kept thinking I have to stay b/c I want to see the credits.
5)Once again my name did not make the credits
The pacing was hard. I know I'm the bad critic. It is a good film and deserves the good reviews it is receiving. There was a lot of effort put in. It is better to see a film like this on the big screen.

Why did I leave Jamaica again?
MAN:HEY THAT'S NOT CALYPSO
WOMAN: CALYPSO NO I DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS
I'm so easily humored right about now. If I can find Eddie Murphy singing "Kill the white people" on youtube I will watch it again. ( man I would post it but it is so insulting yet humorous)
Instead I will post this clip. After, Obama won I had to watch "Head of State" again.
Did you know that these stamps exist?
I was at the post office today and I thought I should let the world know that these stamps exist. I picked up all five at the post office some months ago. Now, I don't want to mail them. I will have to buy some to mail and keep the others. I usually pick up the African-American stamps at the post office but these were a treat.

SORRY I COULDN'T STAND SEEING THAT PICTURE ANYMORE.
HAPPY B-DAY DC DATING DIVA(if that is your real name, lol)
There is one part of this layout at the bottom where the color is different that I am trying to change. I am unable to find it in the html. If you want to help a sister out by viewing my page source I would really appreciate it. Tell me what you think so far.
As I start this new year I look at my wall and see the newspaper cut out I have of Usain Bolt crossing the finish line. This was a proud moment. You would think I'm Jamaican. It was also amazing to see the ladies win. (GO LADIES)I was there when Usain won watching the race on the big screen downtown. The joy of the people of the whole country in one accomplishment was so heartwarming. This is what was nice about the presidential election. The best moment for me was at the polling site and seeing all those black people in this long line. Then, I saw one young black man holding his camcorder and scanning the crowd as he left. Yea I'm being sappy but it made me think of one of the reasons why I love film. I love how we can document history. I love how film can be a recorded memory.
Anyways, it's easy to love film opposed to other things, even though the life of a filmmaker is often a headache.

The only one that needs review is the Harvey Milk documentary. The doc was more interesting than the film "Milk" that came out last year. In all honesty is it necessary to ride off the same fame a story received before? That will be two films about the same thing that won awards.(assuming "Milk" wins an award) This makes me think of when gym class heroes won the music award for remaking the Jermaine Stewart hit. I mean how can you feel good about yourself as an artist? Is this really a way of paying tribute to the artist before you? Is this not just taking a heartfelt story and challenging an actor in order to win an award? Just a thought. I think remakes can be done and improve upon the previous work. However, I lose a little respect for the newcomer b/c they had to use a little less creativity.
I am thinking about changing the colors on my page. They are a little too bright.
Have a good week

2)Not another teen movie
3)Truth or Dare (the 86 horror film and the Madonna one)
4)Jack Frost( the horror movie)
5)Feel the noise
7)Wild Wild West
Honorable mention goes to "Dreamcatcher"
This is an interesting list of bad movies from imdb
this one is from everybody is a critic
You know it must be rough in the film biz if "Marley and me" is number one at the box office. I mean I haven't seen it but you can put Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson in any movie and I'd have a hard time giving it a try. I guess the family movies are in during the holidays.
So, this picture below came from a b-movie website it is a still from "Creature from the Haunted Sea".
It is so funny to me that I had to post it. Maybe I will bite Obenson's style and do funny movie stills instead of the old movie posters that he posts.
Here's that link

I found this poem of sorts
if there were errors along the way
I will feel good when I forgive myself for them
not all in one day
I've managed so far
increased my guard
everything has made life entertaining
even without planning
the randomness plays well with the predictable
if there were mistakes along the way
some I don't remember
let me have enough fun times so I can forget more
I am hoping to leave a lot in 2008.

I plan to get rid of this cellphone. My hair should be long again. I may or may not lock up again soon. I'm thinking I will wait until I'm 30. I will be 28 this year. My ten year high school reunion is also this year. I will not attend that function. I act as if I am in my thirties and I need to get it together. I do need to get it together.
Off-subject Am I the only person that doesn't want to attend the inauguration? I mean I have never watched one on tv. I am happy Obama is president but gee whiz. Is this really like some million man march type of event? I did hear Michelle discuss helping the community around them in D.C. and I am really looking forward to seeing a change in D.C. Of course I am also looking forward to seeing what else will change in the country.
I want to give up a lot. I think loving yourself involves a lot. Really being concerned about yourself and your health is important. I also feel as if you can live healthy and still die. I think at the end of my life I won't feel anyway about if I did or didn't eat that pint of ice cream or that bacon. I do however want to believe in food having an effect on your mental health. So, I will give a healthier diet a try.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
